Geneology I am doing it...

So Annie my sister-in-law has been asked to work on family history for her ward and called here for information from my Mom. So I thought hummmm, I think I will check out the new church site called "New family Search. org." I thought I would just poke around but I totally caught up in it. I organized names from my husband and called relatives and got basic family info that has never been documented on the pedigree chart. It was so exciting. I found it facinating to search through my Mom's binder with her primary documents and found some very interesting things. I read the actual western union telegraph announcing my paternal grandfathers death over the south pacific in WWII and copies of marriage certificates that my grandpa Rigby had requested for my Mom. I love how user friendly the new church site is. I have tried the "temple ready" and "paf" programs in the past but until yesterday I had no luck understanding it. Go get your church id and confirmation date and see your family!

Picture: My Dad and Grandpa Rigby...My grandpa would have loved to use these computer advancements.

I am glad you have enjoyed the site! I too have found myself "caught up" in poking around entering in stuff on the new site. It is great!

How awesome Susie! That is great that you are getting into geneology. I have always wanted to do that, but sadly I never have enough time. What a great picture of your Dad and Grandpa. That is priceless.
